Hello, I’m Paul Sweeney, the head tailor and founder of Eeze Covers Academy— a small, family-run business based in the heart of West Yorkshire, UK.

For over 40 years, I’ve been making the UK’s finest tailored loose covers and slipcovers — transforming tired, worn furniture into something fresh, snug, and beautiful. I started as an apprentice for my uncle's company, and through thousands of hours of hands-on work, trial, error, and refinement, I developed the efficient, foolproof methods I use (and teach) today.

My approach is simple: Pattern just half the piece, mirror the rest for perfect symmetry, and reuse patterns across matching furniture — saving time, fabric, and frustration. If the pattern is right, the sewing is the easy part. That’s the philosophy that has kept my clients delighted and my business thriving without ever needing to advertise. Word-of-mouth, happy customers, and smart partnerships have done the work for 40+ years.

What started as a passion for making covers that fit like they were made for the furniture (because they were) has grown into something bigger. Slipcovers and loose covers are a dying art — many skilled makers are retiring, and the market is underserved compared to the saturated world of traditional upholstery. A lot of upholsterers turn away cover jobs or push clients toward full reupholstering. That’s where I come in — and where I’m now focused on passing the torch.

Through my Eeze Covers Academy (learnslipcovers.com), I share everything I’ve learned: over 50 in-depth tutorials (each broken into 5–6 easy steps), covering everything from wing chairs and Chesterfields to curved sofas, sectionals, and tricky arms/seats. My motto? “If you can sew, I can 100% teach you how to make tailored covers that fit to perfection.”
